Joey, I have to tell you I was a reader many, many years before I
became writer, and Marguerite and Tyler’s story is the most
hauntingly beautiful, well written love story I have ever read. I
find myself reading parts of them over and over again. And the
moment at their wedding when she gives him the collar to place
around her neck had me in tears. You have a real gift. My Joey Hill
collection is growing daily.

It's easy to see why Marguerite is referred to as the Ice
Queen and wonderful to see Tyler work hard to crack her
tough veneer. Although the activities in which doms and their subs
participate are often titillating, Marguerite and Tyler have a
sensitivity that shines through. Readers who enjoy this novel can
read more about Marguerite and Tyler in Hill's sequel, Mirror
of My Soul, also available in e-book format.

This is an erotic BDSM story that has the ability to take you in
to the Dom world. It allows you to feel what it would be like to
surrender yourself to this world. Joey Hill has done it again with
“Ice Queen” A hot sensual book. Personal note to Joey Hill - I am
always amazed by your writing talent. With each and every book you
write you have the talent to pull me into the story. Thank you for
being a powerful writer. You will always have a special place on my

Joey W. Hill knows how to create well-crafted and well-plotted
BDSM stories. She stands out in a genre known for its
out-of-the-ordinary love play by making her characters intense,
flawed, and human. Those who don’t participate in the BDSM scene
will just as easily relate to Tyler and Marguerite’s feelings and
dilemmas as BDSM experts themselves. After all, BDSM is only the
beginning of Tyler and Marguerite’s connection. As they develop
intimacy together, as they start to learn what makes each other
tick, the story truly comes together. Ms. Hill has imbued her
characters with a strong sense of self. To be Master and Mistress,
they need powerful traits that convey the sense of authority these
roles command. That sense of power flows out of them into the story,
creating a tight plot marked by intriguing love scenes and some
interesting foreplay. This story is not for the faint of heart. It
has been rated X-treme by Ellora’s Cave and this should be noted by
readers. Ice Queen is not a lighthearted BDSM story. It is
provocative, sensuous and pain-filled. Both Tyler and Marguerite’s
emotions are explored and twisted, as are their roles as Master and
Mistress which set the precedent for their relationship. Ice Queen
is the first book about Tyler and Marguerite; another is to follow,
but this story will surely whet your appetite. Kudos, Ms. Hill, for
portraying the BDSM with an honesty and sensuality not many authors
are willing or able to do.

Oh, how I love this book! I was not just captured
by the story; I was, and still am, captivated. Joey W. Hill is a
writer I’m just discovering, but I’m making it my sworn quest to
discover, uncover, and devour every single one of her writings, in
both the erotica and fantasy realms! I do love depth in
characterization, and these protagonists have layer upon layer upon
layer in their personas; yet they are realistic, and readily
empathisable. The plot is super-enticing. This book touched me SO
deeply; there are stories that entice with a fast-paced, intriguing
plot; there are stories that we love because of the characters. This
novel has all that, but more significantly, this story touched me
deeply. I’m going to be remembering and rethinking and replaying it.
This is a novel I expect to be raving about for quite some time to
come!

This is a delightful in depth look at how two
people with very different sexual desires, develop a loving
friendship, where trust and cooperation are the name of the game,
particularly within a BDSM relationship. Tyler is a patient,
understanding caring man, when it comes to Marguerite's
reservations. The plot is very character based, well written and
entertaining, too. Ms Hill has spent a lot of time on her
characters, so there can be no doubts to what they think, feel and
how they react to each other from a readers point of view, however
the characters have many emotional concerns to deal with. I also
found that the story regarding a secondary character Brandon, a
loyal sub, equally rewarding to read. All that is left to be said,
is that I am eagerly waiting to read part II (Book 4) of the Nature
of Desire Series, which should be a stunner of a book if this one is
anything to go by.

What is it that makes Ice Queen stand out above
other books of its genre? There are many factors. Joey Hill’s sense
of detail. Her subtlety. Take, for example, the Ice Queen's teashop.
In the first chapter, there is a conversation about tea in which
both Marguerite and Tyler reveal much about themselves in subtle
analogies running rampant. It is delicately handled characterization
at its first intellectual step. Take Joey Hill’s timing as it
smoothly moves toward a surprisingly dark and violent conflict and
resolution.
A reader doesn't have to deeply analyze each word
to deeply feel this well-written, well-paced, highly sexual, very
dramatic story. The strength of Ice Queen is that it will work as a
dark, sexy read, and it will equally well stand up to subsequent
readings. Though, I do warn you that there is a moderately
bloodthirsty battle in this story that is not for the faint of
heart, this book will nevertheless appeal to readers who like hot
BDSM; it will satisfy those who cry at Hallmark commercials and
empathize deeply with their protagonists; it will charm those who
prefer relationship stories; and it will entrance those who like
psychological romances that engage on multiple levels. In fact, Ice
Queen is an emotional banquet any way you look at it.

Joey W. Hill’s ICE QUEEN will take readers deep into the more
intense BDSM club scene. Both Marguerite and Tyler are well-known
Dominants, but you get the sense that Marguerite is hiding behind
her ICE QUEEN image - like she’s playing a part. I am so impressed
with Tyler and the extreme patience and understanding he exhibits
with Marguerite. ICE QUEEN had me so hooked I just made the trip
over to Ellora’s Cave and purchased the first two books of Ms.
Hill’s NATURE OF DESIRE series and anxiously am awaiting the next
book, MIRROR OF MY SOUL, which contains the rest of Marguerite and
Tyler’s story.

When I first started Ice Queen, I initially thought I was going
to be disappointed, because it starts out slow with a lot of
explanations that I thought I didn’t need. It turns out that in
order to comprehend what is going on you really have to have the
explanations about submissive and dominants or it’s harder to be
drawn into their world. Marguerite has been brutally hurt in the
past, and it has made her numb, unable to feel or want to feel and
be known by her lover. Tyler has also been hurt in the past, but he
seems to be willing to let someone new into his life. They are both
damaged people, and as I got to know them and started to understand
what is going on, I found myself immersed in the story so much that
I didn’t want it to end. It is to be continued, so there is hope
that I will find out what I want to know about both characters. Ice
Queen is certainly one for the keeper shelf, and I will be
impatiently awaiting the next one in the series, Ice Queen II.

Joey W. Hill’s Ice Queen is a riveting story of passion,
submission, and domination. This was an intense well-written novel
that pulls the reader into a web of longing and denial. Marguerite
projects a tough exterior that keeps most people at a distance.
However, on the inside, she's a lonely woman afraid of letting her
guard down even to accept the love of her soul mate. Tyler is a
brooding man with many secrets of his own. His skillful domination
only adds to his charm. His unwavering faith and determination to
win Marguerite’s heart endears him to the reader.
Secondary characters that enhance the plot and keep the reader
coming back for more and more join these two wonderful main
characters. Brandon is one of the key individuals who pulls at the
reader's heartstrings. His devotion to Mistress Marguerite helps to
explain the dominant part of her personality.
The eroticism and sensuality of the story is breathtaking. From
their very first meeting, Tyler and Marguerite share a powerful
connection. I felt privileged to witness the intense interaction
between these two remarkable people. The extremely erotic Dom/sub
scenes sent tingles up and down my spine. Their lovemaking is
powerful and intense, leaving the reader on the edge of their seat.
Mirror of My Soul is the conclusion to Tyler and Marguerite’s
story. I am waiting on pins and needles for its release. While I am
waiting, I am going to check out the first book, Natural Law.

If you liked Joey W. Hill’s book, Natural Law, you will love Ice
Queen. The story is BDSM erotic romance at its best. In this story
the reader gets to know how important the factor of trust is in a
D/s relationship and that this trust has to be earned, as well as
that a D/s relationship does not have anything to do with pain.
The reader has met both Marguerite as well as Tyler before in
Joey W. Hill’s book, Natural Law. Marguerite is a person who lets no
one near her; she is above everything and is always in control, but
what will happen if she has to give up her control to another
person? Tyler is dominant through and through, and he has the
feeling that Marguerite is not a full dominant as she thinks, but
more of a “switch.” When these two find each other in a D/s
relationship for one weekend, the sparks are flying between them. It
is pure joy to read how the relationship between them develops and
the reader becomes curious about the skeletons that they have in
their closets. This reviewer can hardly wait to read the sequel
“Mirror of My Soul”, because she is really curious about how the
story goes on.

As always, Joey W. Hill has written a completely
mind-blowing novel about the world of BDSM. The world that Mistress
Marguerite and Tyler live in is not one of innocence and simple
pleasures. It is about exposing your weaknesses and vulnerability to
another person to obtain the ultimate intimacy. It is the true
experience of being completely honest about who you are and what you
expect from another person in a relationship. Both Mistress
Marguerite and Tyler are very strong-willed people with emotional
baggage. Life has certainly been not kind to either, but they have
learned to deal with it as best they can. When they come together,
it is an explosion of fireworks, not just of the sexual kind, but
also the emotional. Tyler comes across as very confident, yet
caring.
Who is meant to master who in this complicated
relationship? Tyler and Marguerite are about to find out that rules
of the BDSM and D/s are not always cut and dried, but are instead
very complex. The ending is one that leaves the reader in great
anticipation, for it has a huge, incomplete finale. Part Two of this
series should be arriving soon, and I cannot wait to read the
conclusion of this original and very sexy love affair.

This is an emotionally intense book. These people
and their journey immediately grabbed hold of me and kept me
invested in their story. Marguerite and Tyler are complex beings
with difficult pasts that have helped shape them into the highly
sought after Dominants that they both are today. Marguerite appears
the perfect ice queen: completely in control and untouchable, but
for some reason Tyler can get under her skin with simply a look.
Their training weekend rips away Marguerite’s extremely strong
defenses and leaves her off kilter as she gains new insights.
Relatively little traditional intercourse takes place in the book,
but still it is filled with emotionally searing sex and a controlled
erotic atmosphere. The careful thought the participants put into
their actions was both thought provoking and provocative. It made
those times when they acted without conscious consideration even
more striking. It is strongly a BDSM novel, which may put off some
readers, but most of all, it is an emotional novel. I was completely
caught up by what was happening between Marguerite and Tyler and
what was happening within each of them. Ms. Hill is clearly a gifted
writer.

Ice Queen is a sexy, erotic, and emotion-packed
read! Marguerite is so strong and sexy, but underneath she is
vulnerable and scared of letting herself go. Tyler is strong, sexy,
and he knows what he wants: Marguerite, and he will get her using
any means. Tyler will not let her be damaged any more than she
seems, not even by herself. Joey W. Hill has a true talent of
letting her readers feel her character’s emotions. This was my first
BDSM book and it enthralled me. I cannot wait for the next. With Ice
Queen Joey W. Hill writes a rich, emotional story that pulled me in,
and she does it without having to use any restraints to keep me

Ms Hill has a way of putting you inside the
characters’ minds with effortless ease. This story kept me on the
edge of my seat, reading way past my bedtime. The end left me
breathless and begging for more. Each erotically charged scene is
vivid and well written, pushing the limits of the reader’s
imagination and sometimes outside of the comfort zone. However, the
author still manages to portray that the heart, as well as the body,
is involved each time. I loved this story and am waiting impatiently

Exquisite and heart-rending, dark and complex, a work of art
unrivaled by any other story I've read!
Ice Queen is the epitome of everything a BDSM novel should be and
more, going for and exposing the basest part of the practitioner, be
they Dominant or submissive, beyond the flesh, and into the soul.
Joey W. Hill's talent morphs with each set of characters she
focuses on, creating something unique and utterly astonishing in its
complexity and emotional depth. Now I am eagerly awaiting the second
part to this story, Mirror of My Soul, where I know an even higher
level of talent, feeling and searing sensuality will be evident! Ice
Queen submerged me into the very essence of these characters, and
didn't let me rise to the surface until I finished. Ice Queen will
have its own pedestal, as every unparalleled masterpiece deserves.
